River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work to a juried show, “Land & Sea.” The deadline for entry is Saturday, June 29 at 4pm. The theme “Land & Sea” is open to personal interpretation by the artists and may include realistic as well as abstract works. This popular summer show draws broadly on the Maine landscape.
The juror for this exhibition is Maine artist, Tom Ferrero. Ferrero says of his work, “While my work may be described as realism, the realistic quality is not what excites me; rather, it’s the coming together of the many separate brush strokes to form the overall image that I find so satisfying.” He has been honored with multiple awards.
Artists may enter either two pieces with a size limit of 24 inches including frame or one larger piece with a size limit of 50 inches including frame. For members, the entry fee is $15 and, for non-members, it is $30. Artwork to be considered must be delivered in person during regular open hours. Entry forms are available in the gallery or on the website.
An opening reception will take place Saturday, July 6 from 2-4pm. The show will run through August 10.
