On exhibit at Wiscasset’s Maine Art Gallery will be the paintings of artists invited by jury to paint in and around Midcoast Maine, including Monhegan Island and the many picturesque towns of Lincoln County. For six days, talented plein air painters from around the state and beyond have been painting outdoors, capturing Maine’s wonderful light and the essence that is Maine - a beacon to artists for centuries.

All participating artists were asked to paint in Wiscasset Village for at least one day. The exhibit will display the many interpretations of this pretty and historic Village on the Sheepscot River.

Gallery hours are 11am to 4pm, Thursday through Sunday. The gallery is free and open to the public.
