Nocturne is the last show of the Maine Art Gallery’s 2024 season. With the close of autumn and the coming dark days, these Maine artists will display their own interpretations of evening and night effects, influenced by James McNeil Whistler’s nocturne series in the late 1800’s. The juried show will feature work that explores this theme in all mediums and is finding a growing appreciation among collectors to experience mystery, serenity, and peace in these paintings.  

The opening reception for Nocturne is Saturday, September 14, from 5pm to 7pm at the gallery. Enjoy the exhibit, meet the artists!
