The exhibition, New Works, engages visitors in an exciting showcase of vibrant, contemporary art. New Works highlights fresh, spirited pieces by Maine artists, radiating warmth and color in a diverse range of mediums, styles, and perspectives. 

The public is invited to the opening reception of New Works on Saturday, April 12 from 2pm to 4 pm, running concurrently with the opening reception for On the Edge in the River Room.

Juror, Susan Akers, who curated New Works, explains her selection process, “Initially, I went with my gut reaction and then I looked at color, pattern, form, depth and technique. The result is a visual cornucopia.”New Works captures a current vibe that celebrates the artists’ recent creativity.
